Boroughbridge logistics company Reed Boardall has won an important contract with a major frozen food company.
Grimsby-based Young’s Seafood, which supplies about 40 per cent of all the fish eaten in the UK each year, has appointed the company to be its partner in the collection, storage and delivery of its foodservice business.
Reed Boardall’s 55-acre cold storage operation off the A1 is the largest of its kind in Europe. The firm won the deal after it successfully provided third-party storage at short notice over the summer for a Young’s site in Scotland.
Chris Law, logistics manager for Young’s Seafood Limited, said: “This partnership has been slowly developing and Reed Boardall has stepped up every time we have asked them to. We are impressed by their ability to respond and are confident that they will take good care of our foodservice customers and deliver the expected performance this area demands.”
Reed Boardall’s fleet of 180 vehicles delivers an average of 12,000 pallets a day and it stores around £100m worth of products on behalf of its customers.
