Participants warmed up before the start to routines by fitness instructor Martin Shaw before setting out on the 10 and 5k routes around the country estate at Bramham Park.

The weather was glorious and as well as participants, nearly 100 spectators turned up to watch the fundraising event which will now have raised in the region of £275,000 for CRUK since the event started 18 years ago.

With all costs covered by Beadnall Copley, all the money raised by those taking part will go directly to the charity.

Sponsor Andrew Beadnall said: “The weather, as always for this event, was simply stunning and I was delighted to yet again be asked to sponsor the event as it is an opportunity for Beadnall Copley to give back to the local community which has been so supportive of my business since 1991.

“It is very emotional to see so many people running and walking to raise funds to fight cancer and an awful lot of them have either been affected personally or have lost loved ones.

“I especially love to welcome back year after year, Ledsham Cricket Club, who run the course in their whites in memory of Jonny, one of their team members who tragically died of cancer.”

He added: “To everyone who participated and of course the organisers and innumerable volunteers, an enormous thank you for all you have done and continue to do.”

Last year’s Bramham Park Fun Run raised £12,575 for Cancer Research UK to fund the charity’s life-saving research in Leeds in the hope of finding a cure for cancer.
