Bramham gala welcomes sports stars

Bramham Gala is gearing up to be a breathtaking spectacle.

Yorkshire and England cricket star Ryan Sidebottom is to open the event on Saturday at noon.

Another highlight will be two shows by the Extreme stunt motorbike and cycle display team, which includes reigning and five times world cycle trials champion Jack Carthy.

Joining him is Dan Clark who has wowed audiences all over the world with his motorcycle stunts and displays. With Dan on the motorbike and Jack on the peddle bike its a man against machine event with plenty of comedy aspects to the show.

A gala spokesman said: “Also at the show we have a hoola hoopist who appeared on Britain’s Got Talent in 2014 and the Supreme Starlet Majorettes.”

The beer tent is open from noon and food will be provided by the NSPCC barbecue and fish and chips from The Village Chippy.

The regular stalls and stands will be offering tombolas and raffles and the range of traditional games will be in place including the coconut shy.

The spokesman added: “The ever popular children’s sports will be the highlight of the day offering the chance for kids to do the sack race and the egg and spoon race.”

Other attractions include bouncy castles, side shows, candy floss and face painting. A kids area provides a magician and exotic pets.

Entry to the gala, on the playing fields off Aberford Road, is free.
