Boston Spa Arts Festival: it will be the fifth annual Boston Spa Arts Festival held at the Boston Spa Village Hall on Friday, October 11 from 10am-5pm and Saturday, October 12 from 10am-4pm. Included will be painting, collage, sculpure, photography, textiles and needlework, jewellery, glass, prints and printmaking, wooden toys and wood turning, gifts and cards. Entrance fee only 50p. There will be a tea room serving light refreshments. All proceeds will go to the Boston Spa Village Hall Renovation Fund. Jazz in the Spa: the session this Saturday, October 5 – T J Johnson and his Band – a most successful session last year and TJ returns as pianist extraordinaire to regale us with his inimitable blend of jazz, blues, soul, country and gospel. Local cardmaking classes: meet other crafters, learn a new hobby, or just come along for a fun afternoon - my classes suit all abilities. Held on a saturday once a month in Boston Spa Village Hall the next classes are Saturday, October 19, November 16 and December 14 from 1pm til 3.30pm. 12 places per month available. Boston Spa Farmers Market: our next market will be held on Friday, October 11 from 9am-noon. It is held in Millenium Square, outside Boston Spa Library. Come and buy all that is fresh and local from breads, pies, cakes, fruit and vegatables and locally produced meats.

Boston Spa Methodist Church: the services for this Sunday, October 6 – 10.30am Rev Graham Haslam 6pm Revd. Susan Greenhart - Holy Communion. All are welcome to join us at any of our Services and events, and for refreshments afterwards in the Wesley Room.

Kings Church: meet every Sunday at 11am and 6.30pm at the Deepdale Community Centre to include Sunday School for singing, quizzes and bible stories and lots of fun. Contact Pastor Stephen Thompson 01937 541688 for further information.

St Mary’s Church: our next service on Sunday, October 6 is 8am Holy Communion , 10am Holy Communion at St Mary’s Church, Boston Spa.

St Mary’s Ark: join us at St Mary’s Ark, St Mary’s Church every first and third Thursday of the month from 1.45-3pm (term time only) at St Mary’s Church, Boston Spa. This includes a short service for babies, toddlers, parents and carers. Including refreshments and activities. A warm welcome awaits you from the members of Mothers’ Union. Our next meeting will be today Thursday, October 3.

St Peter’s Church Harvest Supper: Friday, October 4 in Walton Village Hall at 7pm for 7.30pm. Includes a raffle. Adults £8.50 Children £5.

We want your garden!: on Sunday, July 13 2014 Boston Spa are having an open gardens day. If you would like to open your garden – you will not be alone, we have eight volunteers so far. The WiSE Owl Cafe: Boston Spa Village Hall (Jubilee Room). Every week we have delicious home-made soup, bacon sandwiches are new on the menu along with delicious freshly prepared scones which are proving very popular. Afternoon tea is another new tempting treat on the menu. The cafe provides a service to the community that goes beyond coffee and cake. It is a vibrant, friendly and sage place to meet and eat. We already have some regular customers taking advantage of our loyalty scheme. A warm welcome awaits!

Bluekings Blues & Jive Special: lineup and details for bluekings blues n jive special + guests soldd on Friday, October 18. Bluekings Blues & Jive special. Live music, dance party night. + Special Local Guests soldd. The Bluekings. Now veterans of the UK blues circuit, the Bluekings have been winning over audiences with their distinct blend of up-tempo Chicago and West Coast harp driven swing blues for the last sixteen years! With three vocalists, two lead guitarists, harmonica and a solid rhythm section, they deliver an unpretentious, authentic sound. Following on from several well received performances around the UK this year the band look forward to performing locally again. Nick has even got a Double Bass for the occasion so, please put on your dancing shoes and come and see the Bluekings, don’t expect an early night! Soldd are a five piece band which perform an eclectic mix of old and new music. Favourites include “Valerie”, “Lady Marmalade” and “Forget You” to mention a few. The line-up hasn’t changed since forming back in 2008 to do a ‘one-off’ performance in front of a few friends for new-year’s eve. Since then the band have performed at many local venue’s and events.
