Valentine Craft Fair: at Boston Spa Methodist Church on Saturday, February 9 from 10am-2pm. There will be a range of craft stalls where you can choose that special gift for that special person. Hot and cold refreshments will be available throught the fair. The proceeds are in aid of the B4G project at church. B4G is an ambitious and exciting new project which we are about to embark upon here in Boston Spa. We want to make our church inclusive for all – a warm, inviting church which is a community resource for everyone - a place where church and community meet.

Jazz in the Spa: the session this Saturday, February 9 – Spirit of New Orleans – an outstanding Yorkshire based group with a relaxed New Orleans style but which is wide ranging, distinctive and thoroughly enjoyable. Led by trumpet maestro Dave Pogson, this band swings and entertains in equal measure – a lesson in how best to keep music live! Further info ring Les – 01937 842636.

Boston Spa Methodist Church: the services for this Sunday, February 10 - 10.30am Andrew Marshall All Age Worship. All are welcome to join us, wherever they are on their faith journey, at any of our services and events, and for refreshments afterwards in the Wesley Room.

Auction of promises: Clifford Village Hall Friday, March 8 at 7.30pm in aid of the Lower Wharfe Youth Fund. Tickets £5 will be available from Kate Kennedy, Kate Lofthouse, Paul and Philippa Martin and the parish office. The ticket includes a light supper and there will also be a licensed bar. We already have some excellent promises ranging from champagne afternoon tea at Rudding Park to a self catering house sleeping eight in the Lake District, so bring along your friends and don’t miss out on the opportunity to bid for some amazing promises.

Churches Together Lent 2013: Glimpses of God hope for today’s world York course 2013. Opening meeting Monday, February 18 7.30pm at Boston Spa Methodist Church. Further meetings on February 25, March 4, 11 and 18. All welcome. Lunchtime concerts second Friday of the month at 1pm. at Boston Spa Methodist Church. Concert admission £4, Light lunches served from noon. Friday, February 8 a piano duet with Beryl Pankhurst and Pam Jolly. Friday, March 8 an organ recital with Leeds City Organist Simon Lindley. Friday, February 22 All Saints’ Thorp Arch are holding a wine and cheese evening at The Pax, Thorp Arch from 7-10pm. Discoverers: are you aged between Five-11 years of age? Do you enjoy playing games, making new friends, creating things, singing and dancing, baking, listening to short Bible stories and winning prizes? If the answer to this question is yes, then please join us at St. Mary’s Church, Boston Spa on the first and third Friday of each month. Start time 5pm to 6.30pm. St Mary’s Ark: come and join us at St Mary’s Ark, St Mary’s Church every first and third Thursday of the month from 1.45-3pm at St Mary’s Church, Boston Spa. This includes a short service for babies, toddlers, parents and carers. Including refreshments and activities. A warm welcome awaits you from the members of Mothers’ Union. The next meeting will be February 21.

Boston Spa Beer Festival: our fifth beer festival will be held at Boston Spa Village Hall on Friday and Saturday, February 15 and 16. On friday doors open from 3.30pm (Corporate entry) and general public entry from 6.30–11pm. Advance tickets online £5.75 or from Yeadons Hardware, High Street, Boston Spa £5 Saturday entry from noon–7pm. Tickets on the door or advance online and from Yeadons. Price includes souvenir pint glass and half pint token. Eight Camra Champion beers, 30+ Yorkshire beers, 10 ciders/perrys, pie and peas and two bars (a third on Friday from Black Sheep), Childrens entertainment (family room) on Saturday, Live music Friday and Saturday and bar games. Forthtell: invites you to a lecture and discussion on issues of the day. The next session is titled Royal Assent by Iain McGregor at the Boston Spa village hall on Saturday, February 9 from 2.30–4pm. All are welcome. There is no charge and there will be light refreshments and free literature. Forthell is an independent fellowship, not connected to any one church or organisation, seeking to pursue Bible truth, determine the Christian position on issues of the day, and at this time defend the sovereignty of the UK from the inroads of European Union and its euro.
