Bodybuilder lifts gold in top contest

Bodybuilder Austin Williams of Ripon came back to take gold at the UKBFF English Grand Prix Contest held at the ExCel Centre in London as part of the World Power Show and Expo at the start of the month.

Last year he just missed out on the top spot but fought back to gain undeniable condition to take the top spot and gold medal.

Flex Magazine said: “Austin Williams showed why he is one of the UK’s premier classic competitors with a well earned win.

“Williams’ size and shape immediately stood out as he went one place better than his second place here last year.”

The win again qualified Austin for a place to compete at the big autumn international shows - the Arnold Classic Europe, held in Barcelona in September and the IFBB Diamond Cup, Liverpool in October. Also the UKBFF British Championships held in Nottingham.

Austin said he worked harder than ever this year leading up to the show and was happy with the result.

Also it was an experience to share the stage with Ronnie Coleman who is a legend of the sport of Bodybuilding with eight Mr Olympia wins.

Austin can be found working in the Intrim Health and Fitness Gym in Ripon.
