Blooming visit to Westminster

Spofforth in Bloom were intvited to Westminster by MP Nigel Adams in appreciation of their efforts for the village and to celebrate achieving Best Village in Britain in Bloom 2012.

The visit coincided with the Queen’s state opening of Parliament and the party was given a guided tour around the Palace of Westminster by the MP’s parliamentary secretary Mathew Sutton.

The group also watched that day’s sesson of parliament and followed it with tea on the terrace and dinner next to Trafalgar Square.

A spokesman for Spofforth in Bloom said: “It was a privilege for all to attend.”
