Spofforth Hill could see its speed limits drop from 50mph to 30mph by the New Year.
Wetherby ward councillor Gerald Wilkinson told last week’s monthly council meeting that the speed limits would be recommended to be reduced before the New Year.
He said: “We want to reduce the speed limits in this area and we are recommending and hoping this will happen in the New Year.
“If no objections are raised, then it will go through.”
The Wetherby News has previously reported complaints from Spofforth Hill residents about speeding cars and the volume of traffic along the major route into Wetherby.
