Bardsey Sports Club: the football season is now half way through for junior and senior teams and the cricket season will be here before we know it. They are always looking for new players, so if you are interested get in touch with Rob Bielby, the secretary on Will existing members please note that sports club membership subs are now due. The clubhouse is used during weekdays by the toddler group and appears to be going from strength to strength. Apart from sport, they have other events planned including on February 8 a local band headed by Rob Clayton. The junior football team is hosting a football gala in May and the annual gala will also be held in the summer. They are keen for more local people to become involved with this wonderful village asset.

Bardsey Debating & Literary Society: first debate of 2014 will be held next Tuesday in the Committee Room of Bardsey Village Hall at 7.30pm. Andrew Hamilton will be proposing the motion ‘A widespread use of speed bumps on the highway cannot be justified’, which will be opposed by Susan Lupton. They look forward to your company, if you care to join them. For more information contact Carol Peace on 01937 573061.
