Thanks: Stephanie Wright would like to thank all who supported the Rosy Lea Pop Up Vintage Café recently in the Callister Hall in aid of St. Gemma’s Hospice. Also a big thank you to all the traders and shoppers at the Charity Christmas Gift evening held in November. Lynne, Sharon and Tisha managed to raise £260 for Martin House and the Bardsey Village Hall stage curtain fund.
Mothers’ Union: are you at a loose end, today Thursday, and want cheering up? Then get yourself along to the Callister Hall for 2.15pm where the members will be pleased to see you and join them to hear Bill Ratcliffe give a talk on and with monologues by Stanley Holloway. Bill would be quite pleased for a little male moral support. See you there!
Wetherby Choral Society: presents Handel – The Messiah in St. James Parish Church, Wetherby on Saturday commencing at 7.30pm. Tickets are £15 and available by ringing 01937 842564.
Christmas Walk: everyone is invited to join East Keswick Wild Life Trust for their annual Christmas walk which will be along the riverside at Boston Spa on Sunday. Terry Gausden, from the local geology group, will be leading and pointing out interesting geological features along the way. Meet at 11am in the main car park, next to the library in Boston Spa. Golden Plover: this year the Group Carol Service will be held in All Hallows on Monday at 7.30pm. The Rev Chris Puckrin will lead and members, friends and families will be made very welcome and light refreshments will be served after their festive programme.
Tea and Toast: all are invited to East Keswick Methodist Church on Tuesday from 2.30-4pm. Do go along for a drink and a toasted teacake and perhaps some seasonal treats may be on offer. There are toys for children and ramped access for wheels – just ring the bell by the front door if you cannot manage the steps. Villages’ Carol Service: the village hall in East Keswick was packed last year for this event which had a real community feel to it. Churches Together in Bardsey and East Keswick invite everyone to join them again on Wednesday at 7pm, once again in the East Keswick Village Hall. The Collingham Band will help with the music and a collection will be made for a local charity. Mulled wine and mince pies will be served afterwards.
Diary Dates: East Keswick Senior Lunch – This will take place on Friday, January 11 in East Keswick Village Hall and is open to all mature residents of East Keswick, or anyone who is retired and lives alone. Please accept the Women’s Institute invitation to their very popular event, with a chance to catch up with old and new friends.
