If THE banner which has appeared at the end of Church Street has aroused your curiosity, then Wetherby Lions president John Leetch is pleased to explain the Beer Festival taking place from midday on June 4 at St James’s Church Meeting Rooms in Church Street.
Mr Leetch says: “A total of 25 barrels of mostly locally brewed beers will be on offer, along with stouts and ciders. A separate bar will provide wines, bottled beers and soft drinks.
“Entertainment takes the form of jazz singer Pam Britton, followed by The Guitar Club, reviving 60s music, while The Ticket will play rock music.
“In addition to the traditional staple of pie and peas, the discerning drinker will be able to sample Indian vegetarian dishes from Bank Street’s Mango restaurant, with on-site caterers ‘Food for Thought’ offering a range of paninis and wraps.
“Children will be able to enjoy ice cream, face painting and a free bouncy castle.”
Adult entry, £5, includes a commemorative glass, a programme with tasting notes and a first free drink.
All profits go to Martin House Hospice.
