Harrogate Business Improvement District (BID) says it is excited to once again be partnering with the Rotary Club of Harrogate to organise and judge this essential part of Harrogate’s festive season.

Last year saw Weetons on West Park declared the overall winner in a competition credited with conjuring a great first impression for shoppers and visitors in Harrogate town centre during the Christmas period.

This year, businesses will have up until 8am on Tuesday, November 28 to dress their windows, taking into consideration three key elements that the judges will be looking for - illumination, innovation and the Spirit of Christmas.

More than simply a bit of fun, Harrogate BID hopes to exceed the record number of entries from last year and make Harrogate the place to be this Christmas.

Matthew Chapman, Harrogate BID Manager said: “The Christmas Shop Window Competition is one that our members always look forward to and we are really pleased to be partnering with the Rotary Club of Harrogate for the third year running.

“Alongside the Christmas lights, which the BID fully fund, the Christmas Fayre and other attractions in the town, we feel that the competition really adds to the Christmas offer and creates a great first impression to both visitors and residents coming into town over the festive period.
