BARDSEY is set to host its second beer festival on March 24 in a bid to develop the village hall.
Following the success of last year’s event which raised more than £5.4K to help restore the treasured community building, the organisers are geared up to offer 50 per cent more wonderful beers this weekend.
Martin Ward, one of the event’s organisers, said: “Last year was a great success and we were overwhelmed by the amount of support we received from local businesses and residents.
“We would personally like to thank (sponsors) Mike Harrison, Exec Director of Morrison’s, the Bardsey business community especially David Jones, Bob McNaughton and Martin Smith.
“We still need more money so that we can develop the village hall and hope that anyone who joined us last year will join us on the day and invite their friends too.”
The event takes place at the Bardsey Village Hall between noon and 10pm.
As well as a range of tasty bitters on offer, there will also be other drinks available including soft drinks, wine and cider and the introduction of a ‘Lager Corner’.
The entrance fee is £5 which includes a commemorative glass, programme and drinks token.
Plenty of food will be available including pie and peas, hamburgers and hot dogs.
Entertainment will be provided by Hot Flush and cover band This Way up.
A team of children’s entertainers will be in the Callister Hall to keep youngsters amused.
Morrison Utilities Services are once again the main sponsors of the event as well as Reward, PKF UK LLP, Aldermore Finance, RSM Tenon and many more.
As a thank you to the sponsors, a corporate event will be held on Friday, March 23. A fish and chip supper will be on offer as well as the chance to sample the beers free of charge.
Tickets are still available for the Friday.
