Young Lego designers impress judges

The initiative, which children could do while learning from home, asked pupils to get creative and design their dream Lego house with the chance of winning a £50 gift voucher as a prize.

Sharon Robertson, Headteacher at Aspin Park, said: “The lockdown Lego competition was a huge success and we were proud of all children who entered the competition.

“The children were enthused and motivated which boosted spirits during this tough start to the year.”

“The children enjoyed sharing their house designs for the competition.

“We had everything from three-storey designs to colourful bungalows, so the children really got creative.”

Steven Ball, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire, said: “When the entries arrived, we were blown away by the creativity and thought that the children of Aspin Park Academy had put into their Lego houses.”

“This competition was designed to keep kids busy during lockdown when the weather hasn’t been great so we’re delighted that so many got involved and we were happy to crown a worthy winner in Esmay.”

“There was plenty of food for thought here and we’ll take these designs away and consider them for future Taylor Wimpey developments!”

Aspin Park Academy, which is part of the Elevate Multi Academy Trust and on Wetherby Road, is near to Taylor Wimpey’s Trinity Fields.

The development offers a selection of famiy homes.
