Ashville College's Open Morning on September 30 is a not-to-be-missed opportunity for any parents considering their children's education for the 2024-25 academic year.

Here are five compelling reasons to attend – whether your child is starting in Reception, Year 7, or Sixth Form.

Welcome to Ashville

Ashville College is an all-through school which offers a stimulating, nurturing and future-focused education for children aged two to 18.

Every child can look forward to personalised care and support throughout their school journey. Along the way they will be presented with a wide variety of opportunities, experiences, and leadership opportunities. The school works collaboratively with parents through a range of parent information sessions, Q&A events, an all-new Awareness @ Ashville (an initiative which offers interactive sessions for parents with specialists covering topics pertinent to children), and regular open communication with and from parents.

Early Years and Preparatory is stronger than ever

The college boasts a newly appointed Head of Prep School, Phil Soutar, who brings with him over two decades of experience in preparatory education. Vicki van Zeller, an experienced early years teacher, works alongside Phil, adding to the dedicated Reception team. Ashville Acorns Pre-Prep caters for children aged two to five years and has been recognised for excellence, being shortlisted for an Independent School of the Year Award in 2023.

Our boarding family

The school offers accommodation for pupils aged 11 to 18, providing a relevant and well-rounded experience. It has a vibrant and supportive boarding community for these senior pupils which ensures their happiness, health, and success through a flexible and family-friendly system, preparing them for the competitive global environment they will encounter beyond school.

Beyond the classroom

Ashville's Outdoor Learning program, led by Paul Oldham, has grown in popularity and effectiveness. This program teaches essential skills through teamwork and physical challenges. With a dedicated area, including a bell tent and fire pit, and plans to expand it to Senior School, Outdoor Learning is set to become an integral part of the Ashville educational experience.

Expanding for the future

The school also boasts a pioneering Future Ready program, which readies pupils for life beyond education. Originally offered to Sixth Formers, it has now been extended to pupils throughout the school, and the program now provides training and opportunities to pupils from Prep School (aged 6) onwards.
