Harrogate waitress Pepita Talens is celebrating 30 years with Bettys Café Tea Rooms.

Having moved to Harrogate from her native Spain, Pepita Talens first applied for a job at Bettys Café Tea Rooms on the recommendation of a friend who worked there.

“Bettys had a really good reputation, and I knew they were a really nice company to work for, but it wasn’t easy to get a job here because everyone wanted one,” she said.

Thirty years later she still loves where she works.

“Working at Bettys has been my life,” she said. “All of my four children have worked here and so has my husband. A lot of the customers have becomes friends too and they feel like part of the family. I feel very proud to be part of the Bettys business, and I wouldn’t change what I do for anything.”

Bettys & Taylors is a family business with a focus on craft, quality, ideals and valuing their people. More than one in five people have been with the business for more than ten years, and a number for over thirty years.

Bettys will host a recruitment open day on Monday, June 27 from 4 to 7pm. Potential applicants should bring their CV and/or complete an application form on the day.
