Harrogate has welcomed many famous names for talks or ‘Evenings with’ in recent years but there’s a very special show, indeed, coming up in a few months’ time.
An Evening with Sir Roger Moore at Harrogate Theatre on Sunday, November 1 will see the veteran star of James Bond and The Saint in conversation with his biographer Gareth Owen.
Now aged 87, the laconic and debonair Moore, who lives mostly in Monaco these days, is celebrating an incredible 70 years in showbiz this year. And that’s worth raising an eyebrow to!
Published last year, his book Last Man Standing tells of a life began in Stockwell, London, the son of a policeman, who failed to graduate from Durham University but went onto become one of the best-loved stars on the planet.
Although famed for playing 007 in movies such as Live and Let Die, The Man With The Golden Gun and The Spy Who Loved Me, Moore has been successful in pretty much every role he’s taken on in a truly extraordinary career.
