TICKETS for top comedian Michael McIntyre’s Harrogate Theatre dates may have sold out in a record-breaking three minutes online but there’s plenty of other big name comics coming to the town shortly.

McIntyre’s two shows in May are the fastest comedy sell-out to date at the theatre and are a clear signal of the growing support for this ‘comedy capital of the north’.

Although the full line-up has yet to be settled, tickets are already on sale for shows at October’s Harrogate Comedy Festival which features Jimmy Tarbuck, Sandi Toksvig, Julian Clary, Jenny Eclair and The Hairy Bikers.

The comedy line-up for May at the theatre and its sister venue the Royal Hall has seen sellouts for Dara O’Briain, Jon Richardson and Rich Hall.

But there are still tickets available for ex-Never Mind The Buzzzcocks’ star Simon Amstell’s gig at Harrogate Theatre on Monday, May 14.

Saturday night regular, Hyena Comedy Club continues to go from strength to strength at the theatre, too.

l Tickets for Harrogate Theatres spring season are on sale now and can be booked securely online at www.harrogatetheatre.co.uk or through the Harrogate Box Office on 01423 502 116.
