HAPLESS heroics, magical mishaps, fun and fantasy for all the family are promised at Harrogate Theatre with a new show from ingenious comedy theatre company Gonzo Moose.

From the award-winning creators of last year’s gothic spoof Is That A Bolt In Your Neck? comes a brand new fairy tale adventure bursting with absurd comedy and magical illusion.

Grimm and Grimmer: The Misadventures of The Brothers Grimm bursts onto stage on Wednesday, November 9 at Harrogate Theatre.

Mark Conway, artistic director of Gonzo Moose, said the new production was less a retelling of the Brothers Grimm tales as a new encounter with the brothers themselves and their family.

“The first part of the process was reading all the Grimm tales we could get our hands on!

“We also watched lots of 80s classic swords and sorcery films like Labyrinth, Never Ending Story and Legend.

“We then researched the brothers themselves and from there we all got in a room and just started improvising together.”

Influenced by The Marx Brothers, Buster Keatson, Morecambe and Wise and others, he said Gonzo Moose aimed to be entertaining for children and adults alike.

“We toured the north including Harrogate with our gothic horror show Is That a Bolt in Your Neck? last year and had a great time so we can’t wait to do it all again.”
