The August bank holiday sees the return of Leeds Festival whereby an amazing array of acts take over the great outdoors at Bramham for three days.
Everyone has their own favourites and their own taste about these things. Mine says the best day this year is the Saturday.
Not that there aren’t gems such as The Horrors, Arctic Monkeys, Bombay Bicycle Club and more spread across the rest of the weekend.
But, as a man who prefers the marquee shows to the main stage in general, Saturday seems like the one not to miss for me.
Okay, so the main stage that day Saturday, August 23 does have Queens of the Stone Age, Vampire Weekend and Blood Red Shoes (I’m not going to mention Paramore or Enter Shikari) but check out the NME/Radio 1 Stage!
Metronomy. Temples. Warpaint. Twin Atlantic. SBTRKT. All bands worth seeing.
Being of a curious nature, I’m also interested to see whether NME headliners Courteeners are any good.
Throw in Palma Violets on the Festival Republic Stage and electronic duo AlunaGeorge on the BBC Radio 1 Stage and that adds up to one great day in my book.
