FRESH from their success with Hello Dolly earlier this year, Harrogate Operatic Players will be making a welcome return by popular demand to the Sun Pavilion shortly when they present Serenade.
Running from Monday, October 17 to Saturday, October 22, Serenade will be performed in a unique “cabaret” style, allowing audiences to sit at tables under the beautiful dome of the Sun Pavilion and enjoy the performance which is staged all around the auditorium.
There will be a showcase of songs from the rich history of popular music, from shows old and new, including Spamalot, Hairspray, The Witches Of Eastwick, Anything Goes, Half A Sixpence, Me & My Girl, Beauty & The Beast, Sister Act, Company and many more, including spectacular numbers made famous by Queen and Elton John.
Four performances of Serenade have already sold out through advance bookings, but tickets are still available for the Monday and Tuesday evening performances, as well as the Saturday Matinee.
Serenade is produced by Tina Davis, who says she is “absolutely thrilled” to be producing her first show for the players, and is thoroughly enjoying putting the show together and putting the players through their paces.
Tina has also choreographed shows for Ripon Amateur Operatic Society and runs Ripon Stage Academy, a musical theatre group for children.
She has also attended musical theatre summer schools, giving her invaluable experience which she hopes to bring to her production with the players.
When Serenade is over, Tina, credit controller with a firm of Harrogate solicitors, said she would be concentrating on her next major project - renovation of a barn!
