Excitement is building for this year’s Leeds Festival with new acts being announced almost every week.
Sure, the big headliners have been in place for a while but there’s interesting names being added to the bills of the smaller stages at Bramham Park from August 22-24.
So, as well as Queens of the Stone Age, Arctic Monkeys, Paramore, Blink-182, Vampire Weekend, Bombay Bicycle Club, Disclosure, Jake Bigg, Courteeners, Metronomy, The 1975, Pendulum, Enter Shikari, there is now the following: Gerard Way (the My Chemical Romance man’s first-ever solo show), hip hop heavyweight Schoolboy Q, new rock n rollers The Amazing Snakeheads, scream noise merchants La Dispute and indie pop purists The Pains of Being Pure at Heart.
A veritable trove of every type of contemporary music (what about reggae?!), Saturday day tickets for its sister festival at Reading have now sold out in the prosperous south.
As for Leeds Festival itself, I think there both day and weekend tickets still up for grabs.
