Knaresborough’s feva festival have launched an appeal through its website, www.feva.info, for crowdfunding to meet the costs of an ‘urban beach’ at Henshaw’s Arts and Crafts Centre which helps the visually impaired.
This is the first time crowdfunding has been used in the context of feva and the organisers are seeking pledges of £5.
The funding will pay for materials, mostly the cost of 40 tonnes of play sand.
This will be scattered in a designated area at Henshaws where people can sit, kids can play in the sand.
There will also be entertainment and Henshaws’ catering during the lifespan of the urban beach during feav festival in August - including a performance by official Tour de France rock-pop band Hope & Social who will holding a beach party during the afternoon on August 17.
