Gig Scene - Rehab launches new battle of the bands

My second favourite battle of the bands competition starts this Sunday night in Harrogate, writes Gig Scene Editor Graham Chalmers.

Hosted by DJ Trev of Bottom of the Bottle fame, Rehab’s battle of the bands kicks off with heat one which features four excellent local rock bands in the shape of Recovery, Dark Days of December, Dimension and Crave.

Kicking off at 7pm, each of the four bands will play a 25-minute set and the evening continues into the wee small hours with a free club night.

As befits any event involvingTrev, there are no half measures. The prizes for the band who eventually comes out tops in the final on Easter Sunday at Rehab sound like a fantastic ‘create your own band quick’ kit: £500 cash. Rehearsal space time. Studio time at NYHC’s new establishment Fire Studios. Equipment from Rock Steady Music. Hair cuts at Contemporary Hair Studios. Tatooing vouchers at North Star Tattoo and Piercing Studio. Beer.
