A timeless favourite featuring the cast of some of Disney’s best-loved films is to return to the region in coming days.

Disney On Ice, celebrating 100 Years of Magic, has long proved popular with families in the Harrogate and Wetherby areas vying for tickets in recent years.

Featuring more than 50 Disney characters, including firm Frozen favourites Anna and Elsa, this “fanfare” skating production is coming to Leeds from March 22.

Mickey Mouse, sweetheart Minnie, Donald Duck and Goofy are to take to the ice with friends from beloved movies that span decades, from Pinocchio to The Lion King, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, and Pixar’s Toy Story.

“This particular production is by far the largest Disney On Ice show we currently have touring bringing together everyone’s favorite Disney characters,” said producer Nicole Feld.

“Our vision is for audiences everywhere to dance and sing along to their favorite Disney songs, so we’ve included 30 tunes that they know and love.”

The collection of Disney melodies includes family favourites like Hakuna Matata, You’ve Got a Friend in Me and Let It Go, as well as Turtle Rock from Finding Nemo.

“This is a show, more than any other, that is truly for everybody,” added producer Kenneth Feld.

“When I sit with the audience, I see those that are grandparents, like I am, enjoying a lot of the classic Disney stories, while young kids and young parents really respond to Frozen and all the latest Disney stories and animation.”

Disney On Ice celebrates 100 Years of Magic will also feature an energetic ‘Fit To Dance’ pre-show. Launched last year, it aims to inspire families to have fun and be active through storytelling and dance.

Developed with EBC Education ‘Fit to Dance’, the program also reflects the creative process used in Disney On Ice shows, where stories are developed by a writing team and then choreographed into dance routines.

Tickets for the event, coming to Leeds First Direct Arena from March 22 to 26, are available at www.disneyonice.co.uk
