TADCASTER was the favourite haunt of Witch Piccalilli as she went out trick-or treating on Hallowe'en.
The witch, otherwise known as Liz Allison, joined other members of Tadcaster Theatre Company to give sweets to the children of Tadcaster who were out trick-or-treating on Saturday night. They also handed out leaflets publicising the company’s forthcoming production, Jack and the Beanstalk.

Tadcaster Theatre Company will present the pantomime at the Riley-Smith Hall, Tadcaster, from Tuesday to Saturday, November 24 to 28, 7.30 each evening with a 2.30pm matinee on the Saturday.

“We wanted to try and publicise the show and what better way than for a witch to get involved in Hallowe’en?” said Liz. “There were a few tears as the little ones were a bit scared, but on the whole the children were surprised, especially when we handed out sweets.

“Hopefully we will have persuaded a few parents to bring their children to the pantomime.”

l Tickets for Jack and the Beanstalk are available from Gallery 42, St Joseph’s Street, Tadcaster or by calling the ticket hotline on 0845 2255770.
