TICKETS went on sale in Wetherby last Saturday for the 2008 Folk in the Fall Festival.
The festival takes place at Wetherby High School on October 31 and November 1 and promises to offer a superb programme of the best in traditional folk and acoustic music.
Festival director, Debbie Koritsas, said interest in the inaugural event had been extremely good and a steady flow of people had already bought tickets.
Debbie, who organises Wetherby's biennial Wetherby Festival said: "It was lovely to see so many of our regulars arriving at the box office last weekend.
"We get to recognise our supporters because of the type of music they enjoy, so it was no surprise to see customers from our Kathryn Tickell concerts buying tickets on the launch day!
"We've already started to sell tickets online and one of our first customers is travelling all the way from Paris because he likes the programme so much," she added.
"People who love folk music tend to travel quite a lot to enjoy their music so we're not surprised by this reaction and local bed and breakfasts and shop owners will hopefully benefit from having a few extra visitors to the town."
Tickets can be bought at Wetherby Library during opening hours, online at www.wetherbyfestival.co.uk or by post - details are on the festival's website.
For more information contact the festival hotline on 01937 520180 or visit www.wetherbyfestival.co.uk to view the lineup.
