Bardsey Fest returns with a German theme next month

THE biennial Bardsey Fest will take place over the weekend of August 1 to 3.
The Fest continues the tradition, begun in 2000 for the Millennium, of Bardsey organising village celebrations around a theme which saw the village mark the Queen's jubilee in 2002.
The 2008 fest will mark the 35th anniversary of the twinning of Bardsey with the village of Kisdorf in Schleswig Holstein, north of Hamburg.
An Anglo-German theme will be reflected in this year's Fest programme.
A group of 15 people from Kisdorf will travel to Bardsey to join in with the celebrations.
Bardsey Parish Council will officially welcome them at a lunch on Friday, August 1 at the Bingley Arms.
In the week leading up to the Fest, Bardsey will be ablaze with entries to the 'Bowls in Bloom' competition on display in front of residents houses.
Scarecrows will also be gazing down from many houses as villagers compete in this popular event that draws visitors form all around the area.
