SPOFFORTH’S first season in the Nidderdale League is going to plan.

The School Lane side currently sit top of Division Two after a strong start that has seen them thrash a few sides on the way.

Saturday’s latest victory over Darley kept them ahead of their nearest rivals.

But they will be eager to keep the run going especially with some tough games coming up in the next few weeks.

This weekend they will be looking for another positive result at home to Middleham.

On Saturday they kept Darley down to 97-5, openers Simon Taylor and Ben Friggi bowling tightly.

In response last week’s star Jonathon Ross was out for a duck.

However Pat Gannon hit a controlled half century to see Spoff’ through for a comfortable victory.

Meanwhile in Division Six it’s been a more difficult start for LITTLE RIBSTON who currently sit just above the relegation places.

But with plenty of points to play for between now and the end of the season they will be looking to improve their position in the coming weeks.
