Six wickets for Belper Amateurs’ Jake

Belper Amateurs 1sts earned a draw on Saturday in their DCCL Division 5N game against Ilkeston Rutland 2nds.

Ilkeston won the toss and bowled first. Batting was not easy but Belper Amateurs eventually made 136-6 from 35 overs.

Paul Spencer led the way with 47 not out from just 27 balls, including five fours and two sixes.

Stephen Dymond also made 20 and Oliver andJames Deeming 19 apiece.

Ilkeston Rutland were then left hanging on for a draw at 103-9 at the end of the game.

Kenneth Seaman (43) and Gary Hickinbotham (39) did well with the bat while Jake Kington took 6-31 from ten overs for Belper.

As for Belper Meadows 1sts, they only managed one over in their game in the same division against Denby 3rds before the rain arrived.
