Ripon RUFC extended their winless start to the season to three matches when they were pummelled 58-0 at Bradford Salem.
A much-changed Ripon side travelled to Bradford with high hopes after beefing up their front line and line out options.
But first half injuries to forwards Miles Warriner and Ashley Plant cost them dear as Bradford ruthlessly optimised ball-winning opportunities.
The Bradford side ran riot and regularly scored on entering Ripon’s 22.
Ripon responded gamely with some well structured counter attacks and, whilst dominating the set scrum, they were unable to turn this possession into points.
Richard Dixon’s side came close on a few occasions, but not sufficient to get on the scoreboard.
Salem ran in eight tries, six converted and slotted two penalties between the sticks.
The heavy defeat plunged Ripon to the bottom of Yorkshire Two, five goal difference points below Baildon.
Ripon host Sheffield Medics at Mallorie Park on Saturday and they will be out to avenge last year’s double defeat to the side.
The Medics have won both their opening fixtures this campaign, beating Old Rishworthians 27-5 and Roundhegians 26-15.
