Tips from Wetherby golf club’s Mark Daubney: The importance of the right arm

Mark says: “Assuming that we have a right handed golfer, the setting of the right arm in the swing is vital for power and control.

“If you take the angle of your forearm and bicep, this should never get past 90 degrees on pitch or full swings.

“Try getting your forearm to touch your bicep and then throw a ball, you will realise this is a powerless position yet I see many golfers get into this position, then fling the club at the ball – not

good.

“So for real power, keep to the 90 degree rule.
