Procter’s chub secures the RPA Championship trophy

Ripon Piscatorial Association’s Nathan Proctor took first place in the club’s first open match of the season on Sunday.

Fishing for the Ure Championship Trophy, sponsored by Ripon Interiors, 64 anglers took part and 35 weighed in.

Procter claimed first place with 18lbs 8oz of six chub and a grayling caught on bread and open feeder.

Yarnbury’s Mick Bellhouse was runner-up, with 18lbs 0oz of six chub on single and double caster on size 18 hook and feeder.

RSPS’s Jim Taylor was third, landing 10lbs 4oz comprising three chub, two on bread and float and one on bomb.

Other results: 4, Darryl Taylor of Diawa with 8lb 8oz comprising all dace on caster; 5, Martin Thorpe of Leeds with 6lb 9 oz, dace on waggler size 22 hook and caster; 6, Aidey Lewis of Bradford with 6lbs 4oz comprising twi chub on wasp grub and meat.

The next club matches will be on Sunday October 2, October 16 and October 30.
