Masham Sports Association is hosting the town’s free ‘Big Screen On The Green’ event during the Grand Départ.
Situated 100 metres from the Stage One route next to the River Ure, the recreation grounds are just a few minutes stroll from the town’s Market Square.
Paul Baker, chair of the MSA, explained: “If anyone wants a superb day out, this is the place to soak up the atmosphere, enjoy the whole race and explore our historic town in comfort.
“We have built a real family event around the Big Screen supplied by Harrogate Borough Council which recognised Masham as a hub on the race route.
“The big screen, bouncy castles, slide and treasure hunt located on our grounds will provide a fantastic viewing and picnic area for people of all ages to enjoy the whole occasion.
“Wonderful food including french rotisserie chickens, crepes, pizzas, hogroast, vegetarian options, homemade ice-creams, french wines and of course famous local Black Sheep and Theakston ales will all be available to add to the enjoyment of this memorable day. With more than 8,000 car parking places provided for in Masham, the town is organising an unforgettable Saturday, July 5 which will include a traditional Market Day, craft fair and fireworks to end the day!
“Entertainment will also be provided on Friday, July 4 in the evening and the screen will be showing Stage Two of the race on the Sunday.”
