Wetherby Golf Club professional Mark Daubney hosts the latest of his golf tips being published in the Harrogate Advertiser series.
In this week’s session, Mark looks at putting direction.
He says: “Putting in the right direction: So we can now control the distance but we need the right direction to hole that putt.
“It helps to be lined up correctly at address and many modern putters aid this.
“Once that is in place we can do a number of things to help start the ball on line.
“Some like to hit over a spot a few inches in front of the ball, or imagine tram lines from your ball to the hole and hit the putt between them.
“Never just aim for the hole, aim for the middle of the hole, you can then miss your target but still hole the putt!”
