Saturday Sport: Postponements for Harrogate Town and Harrogate Rugby

Harrogate Town's pitch hasn't been played on since December 15.

Harrogate Town's pitch hasn't been played on since December 15.

They were both battling the weather all week, but once again the elements have come out on top.

Harrogate RUFC’s hosting of Bradford and Bingley in National Three North was postponed due to a frozen pitch early Saturday morning.

The surface at Claro Road was left in a bit of state after heavy snow then heavy rain, but Friday night’s cold snap proved too much.

The Yorkshire derby is likely to be rescheduled for March 16.

Meanwhile Harrogate Town had hoped to play their first home game since December 15 at home to Guiseley.

Unfortunately a referee’s pitch inspection deemed the surface waterlogged and therefore unplayable.

Town will host Workington at York City’s Bootham Crescent on Tuesday night in Blue Square North (7.45pm).

Harrogate Hockey’s game at home to Huddersfield in North Two East is on today however, pushback 1.30pm.
