Marshall preparing for tough test at Worsbrough
TADCASTER Albion boss Paul Marshall wants his side to collect their third win on the bounce tomorrow and put pressure on the top dogs after racing back into title contention this week.
Albion picked up a valuable 2-1 win over Askern Villa last Saturday much to the delight of their gaffer who is licking his lips with the business end of the season fast approaching.
Tomorrow Taddy are on the road at NCEL Division One bottom side Worsbrough Bridge, managed by Micky Norbury, an old friend of Marshall’s during their time at Goole.
The Tad’ boss knows it won’t be a walkover and has told his side to be professional in their approach.
“They’re bottom but they’ve picked up over the last few weeks,” he said.
“They’re managed by Micky Norbury. He’s got great experience, he’s a hard man and he’ll get the best out of his side.
“But we’re looking for our fourth win on the bounce.
“We’re right back in the title race now, if we win our games in hand we can go top of the table again, that’s something we’re looking to do.”
Tad’ return to action on Tuesday night when they visit Long Eaton United in the League Cup Third Round (7.45pm ko).
“To be honest I’m more concerned with the game on Saturday,” admitted Marshall.
On Saturday Albion took the lead through Marc Thompson on 14 minutes but Askern levelled proceedings on 60 minutes.
However with the game petering out into a draw sub’ Chris Storey popped up in the right place to squeeze the ball home and grab the points.
