Marshall hopes to keep title hopes afloat as The Park floods recede

TADCASTER Albion boss Paul Marshall is hoping tomorrow's proposed home clash against Rossington Main gets the go-ahead after the recent flooding of The Park pitch (3pm ko).

Last Saturday's game against title rivals Leeds Carnegie was wiped out after standing water had submerged the ground.

However, if the weather subsides Marshall believes the fixture could get the green light with his side desperate to get back into action.

There have been a few interesting results at the top of the division this week with Leeds thrashing Rossington 9-0 on Monday night to close the gap on leaders Staveley.

Marshall was surprised with the result and is looking forward to tomorrow's clash – if they get out on the pitch.

"I thought Rossington were a good side. I don't know what happened there; it was a night game so they might have been missing a few players," he said.

"We need to get back out there playing. I'd say at the moment there's a 50/50 we'll play.

"If there's no more rain we should be OK. The forecast is for a dry spell so we'll see.

"We've had some good games against Rossington this season in the cup and the league so it will be an interesting one."

Taddy should be at full strength for the contest. Marshall, however, is keeping an eye on club captain Danny Pitts, who is recovering from an ankle injury.

"It's been a blessing in disguise not having a game because it's given a few of the lads an extra week to get fit," he added.

Meanwhile Tad' have brought the kick-off time forward from 3pm to 1pm for their Boxing Day clash against Hemsworth Miners Welfare at The Park.
