LUFC’s Leah earns Taylor Trophy

LEEDS United Ladies star Leah Galton was presented with the Ian Taylor Memorial Trophy on Friday night.

The 18-year-old from Harrogate was chosen for the award after impressing in another super season.

The award honours the memory of talented young footballer Ian Taylor, who represented the Harrogate FA in the West Riding County FA Minor Cup, before he was tragically killed in a car accident.

The annual award in his memory is given to the most deserving young footballer playing within the Harrogate and District FA.

The youngest member of the LUFC Ladies squad, Leah has represented England at U-19s level this season and captained the England U-17s team last season,

And her achievements have also attracted attention across the Atlantic.

Leah will travel to the USA in July to take up a four-year scholarship to study and play football

She was presented with the Ian Taylor Memorial Trophy by Harrogate FA Chairman Keith Hill prior to the Maddison Cup final.
