Harrogate focus on return to form as promotion race intensifies

Harrogate team manager Graham Siswick insists the side remain fully focused on gaining promotion this season.
Gate began the season with a stunning ten wins out of ten, but lost their next three matches, including a vital encounter with now National Three North league leaders Chester.
Despite having no matches, the club is training over Christmas in a bid to revive the blistering form of early this season.
Siswick said: “We were disappointed we didn’t do ourselves justice in those matches.
“Yet the focus and the determination did not waiver, we are determined to get promoted this season.
“We have just 12 matches to realise those aspirations.
“There have been shock surprises this season and there will be more to come.”
Siswick believes the experience of losing important matches will help the squad in the long run.
He said: “The losses gave us a reality check. We never expected anything to be easy but winning is a great habit to be in.”
He added: “We have three away games in January, which is tough. We have a lot of challenges coming up in the second half of the season, and we need to come out of them with a 100 per cent record.
“It won’t be easy, there are teams fighting for their lives at the bottom of the table.”
