Football: Victory over Hemsworth hands Taddy the title

TADCASTER Albion won promotion to the NCEL Premier Division on Tuesday night, after a battling 2-1 win over Hemsworth MW.

The title is the first trophy Taddy have won in their 108-year history, and has been spearheaded by manager Paul Marshall.

Albion went a goal behind after barely a minute and remained one-nil down at half-time.

But skipper Danny Pitts levelled from a corner on 65 minutes before sub Mike Braithwaite slammed in the winner from six yards in the dying minutes.

Brighouse Town will join Taddy in the Premier Division, but Leeds Carnegie miss out.
