Football: Defeats for Athletic and White Rose
WETHERBY Athletic exited the West Riding County Cup at the hands of Ovenden West Riding on Saturday.
With the Ings under water, Eugene Lacy's troops lost 2-1 in the third round at Tadcaster Magnet's Queen's Gardens ground, although it took extra time to produce Ovenden's winning goal.
Meanwhile SHERBURN WHITE ROSE were beaten 2-1 away at Otley Town in the West Yorkshire League Premier Division.
Elsewhere TADCASTER ALBION'S NCEL Division One game at home to Leeds Carnegie was postponed in the middle of last week due to the flooded pitch, but with the water draining away Taddy are aiming to make sure this Saturday's home clash with Rossington Main does go ahead.
