TADCASTER Albion president Kevin Derry hopes the Brewers’ sticky patch can be wiped away tomorrow when they travel to Yorkshire rivals Liversedge 3pm.

Paul Marshall’s men now haven’t won in three crucial NCEL Premier League games after Saturday’s 2-0 loss at home to Armthorpe Welfare.

It was a kick in the proverbials for Tad’ who have slipped down to fifth in the table.

But with two games in hand over leaders Retford, Derry is still optimistic they can turn their situation around.

“When we lost on Saturday I thought that’s about it,” said Derry.

“But then I looked at the table and realised if we win our two games in hand we’ll be right up there again.

“If you look at it we’re probably on our worst run for about two years; you can’t complain about that.

“It’s still all to play for, there’s 14 games left and we’ve still got to play a lot of the teams around us in the table.

“What we’re lacking at the moment is goals. Retford was the major disappointment. For 20 minutes we murdered them but we just couldn’t score.

“If we would have put one away then I’m sure we would have gone on to win it.

“It’s not a good run but hopefully the lads will go to Liversedge and get a win on Saturday.

“I’m sure the other teams in the league will go on a bad run at sometime, hopefully we’ve had ours now.

“Looking at it, we’re still in with a chance. Our last six games, we’ve got five of them at home and that will help.”

Derry and the rest of the Taddy squad will then get ready for Tuesday’s semi-final showdown at Barton Town Old Boys in the Presidents Cup.

“It would be nice to retain that trophy,” added Derry.

“But Barton on a Tuesday night won’t be easy.”
