Harrogate Town AFC have lost the services of midfielder and captain Michael Brough for the rest of the season, after the player was involved in a car accident on Easter Monday.
A club spokesman said: “Michael was airlifted to hospital following the accident and received treatment as required.
“We are very glad to report that he has since been released from hospital and is recovering at home.
“Manager Simon Weaver has been in contact with Michael since the accident, and although it looks like his injuries will keep him from playing for the remainder of the season.
“We are all very grateful that the outcome was not far worse.
“Harrogate Town AFC would also like to say thank you to all the emergency medical staff who were involved in treating Michael.”
The Wetherby Road side has struggled with a slew of injuries all season, Brough’s the latest in a long line of sidelined players.
Town are currently battling their way out of relegation danger, hovering one place and two points above the dropzone.
But with three games left in Town’s season, as many as 10 other teams are also in danger of falling into the third and final relegation place.
Town visit Colwyn Bay on Saturday in the Blue Square North (3pm).
