Bardsey want big crowd to help them past Carlton

BARDSEY’S County Cup quarter-final will go-ahead tomorrow and boss Lee Barraclough is calling on the people of the village to come down and cheer on his treble-chasing troops (1pm ko).
The Keswick Laners will welcome Carlton Athletic desperate for a return to action.
Their previous two cup fixtures were wiped out by the weather.
Barraclough isn’t concerned by their lack of match fitness and feels they are ready to go.
“Everything’s sound,” he said.
“We’re raring to go, we can’t wait for it. At the start of the season we targeted the County Cup and the league. It will nice to do well in the League Cup too but we’ve just got to take each game at a time.
“This is a big one for us. If we win we’re into the semi-final where we’ll play either Fields or Leeds City. They’re both teams in our league so we know a bit about them..
“Hopefully we’ll get a big crowd down for this one.”
WETHERBY ATHLETIC will travel to Boroughbridge tomorrow in the West Yorkshire Premier League all guns blazing according to boss Eugene Lacy.
Lacy will have a full-strength squad at his disposal after the two-week break, enforced by the recent cold snap.
However, with ‘Bridge’s Aldborough Road surface one of the best draining grounds in the division, it looks very promising tomorrow’s game will get the go-ahead.
“The break has done us a world of good,” said Lacy.
“We had one or two injured, two with groin problems.
“But they’re back now. We’re at full-strength.
“We drew with them 3-3 earlier in the season.
“It was them for ten minutes, and then us for the next ten. It got a bit boring actually.
“It will probably be a score draw or goals galore tomorrow now, we will see.”
SHERBURN WHITE ROSE have a must win in their fight to stay in the division tomorrow away at Whitkirk.
Wayne Day’s side have already done the double over their rivals this season with victory in the league and League Cup.
With Whitkirk just three places above them in the table, Day knows the significance of a White Rose victory.
“It’s an important one,” he said.
“We need to drag our way back. A victory will pull East End and Whitkirk back into it a bit.
“The break may not necessarily be a bad thing for us.
“We’ve managed to get a few players back from injury. Calvin Waite and Chris Thompson were struggling with hamstring problems.
“So it’s not all bad.”
Day also revealed long term injury doubts Jamie Wainwright and Jim Jollands have begun light training with the squad.
Wainwright may play before the end of the season but Jollends looks like making is comeback next season.
