HARROGATE player/coach Mike Aspinall hopes his side can break their winless streak on Saturday when they travel to Nuneaton in National Two North.

‘Gate are deep in a relegation dogfight after they slipped to second bottom in the aftermath of their last minute defeat to Luctonians at the weekend.

Aspinall wants a backlash, and knows they face an uphill battle to cement their place in the division for next season.

“We know the situation we’re in,” he said.

“There’s no hiding from is. But I was very pleased with the performance on Saturday. It’s a challenge to us now, we’re second bottom but if we play anything like we did on Saturday and show the same determination and commitment I believe we have a good chance of staying up.”

‘Gate have a game in hand over their relegation rivals.

That will come a week on Saturday, when Yorkshire rivals Hull visit Claro Road.
