Tamworth 1-0 Harrogate Town

Ten man Harrogate Town slipped to a first defeat in six matches as a single goal defeat at Tamworth dented their title hopes.

After a goalless first half, Elliott Durrell scored a match-winning penalty midway through the second half following a foul by Lewis Turner.

The goal was the first that Harrogate goalkeeper Peter Crook had conceded for more than 450 minutes, following four successive clean sheets in previous matches.

Town's hopes of grabbing an equaliser were dealt a blow when Lloyd Kerry was shown a second yellow card against his former side.

The defeat leaves the Wetherby Roaders nine points behind league leaders Solihull Moors and with only one game in hand.

AFC Fylde's 2-1 victory over basement side Corby Town saw them pull alongside Town on 59 points, two behind on goal difference.

One positive for Town was the return of striker Dominic Knowles, who replaced Jordan Thewlis with 20 minutes to go.

The former Burton Albion forward had not played for Town in 2016 following a leg injury.

Meanwhile, Knaresborough Town's hopes of an end of season play-off place were given a boost with a 3-1 win over Dronfield Town at Manse Lane.

Brad Walker opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time but Blake Owen's spotkick levelled matters for the visitors.

Former Harrogate Town youngster Walker returned the home lead midway through the second period before both teams had a man dismissed.

Dronfield's Jamie Willis was the first to be shown his marching orders for a second bookable offence before Dan McDaid followed suit for Knaresborough.

A nervy spell followed for the hosts until Fatlum Ibrahimi put the game beyond the Sheffield visitors with his second goal since joining Town last month.
