Kirk Deighton Rangers boss Dan Marshall intends to shuffle his pack at the weekend to bolster his squad strength.

Rangers travel to Yorkshire Amateur League side FC Headingley in the West Riding County Challenge Cup on Saturday.

And after getting thumped 6-1 by Ripon City two weeks ago, Marshall hopes to get his tactics spot on against higher league opposition this time around.

He said: “We have to make ourselves difficult to beat. I would like to think we have learnt from the Ripon game.

“We are going to have to adopt a slightly different approach and stay switched on.

“I’ll be looking at the performance more than the result. I want individuals to give me a selection headache.”

Rangers put in a lacklustre performance on Saturday, but sneaked a last-gasp 2-1 win over Knaresborough Celtic to move fifth in Harrogate & District Premier.

Ollie Aspy levelled the match with an overhead kick in the 85th minute, before James Ripley broke Celtic’s hearts at the death.

“We used one of our nine lives,” said Marshall.

“We rode our luck but we rolled our sleeves up and got ourselves out of it.”
