  • Tadcaster go joint-top with resounding 5-0 win
  • Josh Greening double adds to goals from George Conway, Matt Heath and Andy Milne
  • Brewers have netted 19 times in four league games

Tadcaster Albion produced another impressive performance as they recorded their second 5-0 victory in a week to send them joint top of the league.

First half goals from Matt Heath, Josh Greening and Andy Milne put the Brewers in a commanding lead before another cracker from George Conway and Greening’s second, in the final minute, sealed the win.

Albion boss Billy Miller made one change to Wednesday night’s victory at Athersley Recreation with Adam Baker replacing Josh Barrett.

Taddy almost took the lead in the second minute when Baker cut inside from the left and smashed a shot off the post with the Brigg goalkeeper well beaten.

The goal eventually came for Albion when Greening sent Jimmy Beadle’s cleared corner back into the danger area for captain Heath to flick over the goalkeeper and into the bottom corner.

Six minutes later it was close to being 2-0 as Conway tried his luck from just outside the penalty area only to see his effort clip the underside of the crossbar and bounce just the wrong side of the goal line.

Taddy were in complete control and doubled their lead when Nick Black was slotted clean through, however, his shot was well saved by Ramsden before Greening was in the right place to tap in.

Adam Baker then struck the woodwork for the second time when he received a pass from Beadle, turned onto his stronger foot and curled one which rattled the crossbar.

Tadcaster netted their third goal on the stroke of half time with Milne making the visitors pay from another corner.

Conway had sent a pacey ball back into the box for Milne to execute a stunning diving header into the bottom left corner and give Taddy a commanding half time lead.

Just six minutes into the second half and Taddy almost made it four as Greening broke the offside trap, rounded the goalkeeper and squared to Black who missed the target from close to the penalty spot.

Liam Ormsby then fired in a low and hard cross that Greening couldn’t reach, despite stretching every sinew to make a connection.

Albion were getting closer to a fourth as Liam Ormsby won his battle in midfield and sent substitute Josh Barrett through on goal, however the ball ran away from him slightly as he tried to poke one under goalkeeper Ramsden.

The Zebras continued to battle and kept it at 3-0 until the 79th minute when Conway dribbled into the penalty area and executed a delightful chip over the goalkeeper and into the far corner.

Taddy still had enough time to add to their tally when new signing Dan Clayton delivered the perfect cross to Greening who headed in from a couple of yards out.

A perfect day to round off a perfect week for Tadcaster.
