Striker Joe Ironside has joined Harrogate Town on a month’s loan from Sky Bet League One side Sheffield United.

The highly-rated 20-year-old will boost Simon Weaver’s attacking options alongside Blades’ teammate Jahmal Smith, who is on-loan at the CNG Stadium until the end of the season.

Ironside, who has made 16 league appearances for United including two starts, has already been out on-loan at Skrill Premier outfit FC Halifax Town earlier this season.

He scored two goals in ten matches during his spell at the Shaymen.

Ironside’s introduction raises the number of players on Town’s books to 26.

He has become Weaver’s second signing in a week, after Dan Clayton returned to the CNG Stadium on an 18-month deal.

The boss now has a multitude of striking options, including Chris Hall, Ashley Worsfold, Nathan Cartman, Liam Hardy, Adi Yussuf, Smith and Ironside.
